Heat & Energy
Explore this page to find out more about modern low carbon heat systems, on site electricity generation and storage, and electric vehicle charging.
The built environment contributes approximately 40% of UK greenhouse gas emissions. Of that, 23% come from the heating of our homes.
To address this, whilst also improving the comfort and warmth of our homes, we need to look at how we minimise the energy required to achieve this, as well as what heat source we use.
In addition, as electricity powers more of our building services, you may wish to consider what systems you put in place to generate and store electricity on site. Solar panels are now common on new builds and are in many cases an effective part of the solution to retrofitting existing properties.
Our heat and energy webpages help you understand how to achieve this, and what systems you might want to consider for your projects.
When it comes to heat, it is worth noting that you should always start with the fabric of the building: ensuring that before you consider the heat source and system, you minimise the energy needed to achieve the comfort you want. Marley Roofing Sustainability
"For close to a century, Marley has been tackling some of the key challenges of the day. From launching the UK's first dry fix roof systems back in 1975, being one of the first UK construction materials providers to achieve ISO 14001 environmental compliance, to launching the ground-breaking EcoLogic tile, which absorbs harmful NOx pollutants, and introducing the UK's first fully-integrated solar roof system in 2019.
As part of our journey, we continue to look forwards to where we can make a positive impact for future generations, addressing the environmental, social and economic challenges society faces today and in the future.
We care about the way we do things and are passionate about making a positive difference in all areas we operate. We realise we have more to do."
