Comparison products: Travis Perkins: Makita HP001gZ Combi Drill Brushless Xgt 40V Max.
Introducing XGT, a new 40V standalone system; with a new charging adapter (not included) to allow the new 40V XGT platform to use the DC40RA charger (not included) to charge both LXT slide type battery and the new XGT battery (not included), in as little as 28 minutes. The XGT range of tools and batteries have a built-in program that provides digital communication between the battery and the tool, allowing for the battery not only to talk with the tool but also for the tool to talk to the battery.
The HP001GZ is a cordless, compact Combi Drill, designed for excellent performance in continuous heavy duty applications, powered by 40V Li-ion XGT battery (not included), to supply energy to the powerful 40V brushless motor, with variable speed controlled by trigger, 2 mechanical gears and electronic clutch, to deliver up to 2,600 rpm, 39,000 bpm and 140 Nm maximum fastening torque for a wide range of drilling, fastening and hammer drilling applications.
It is equipped with 21 torque settings in high speed and 41 torque settings in low speed with digital display for visual confirmation of the selected torque setting, single sleeve keyless chuck for quick and easy bit installations and removals and depth gauge for increased drilling consistency.
Features Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT) to shut down the Combi Drill to protect the user if the rotation speed suddenly slows down. To choose between combi drills: The key consideration when choosing a combi drill is the maximum drilling diameter required. 13mm refers to maximum drilling diameter in concrete & brick.
You can use a larger drill bit for metal, plastic & wood (& some machines allow this in concrete & brick too) providing it has a 13mm or smaller diameter shank to fit the chuck. A keyless chuck is tightened by hand.
Choosing the right battery: Cordless (or battery powered) tools have various chemical battery types; Li-ion is the latest technology, prior to that it was Ni-MH and Ni-Cad was the original. The higher the Ah (Ampere hours) the longer the interval between charges; the fewer times you recharge a battery the longer it will last.
ome cordless tools can also come without batteries - also referred to as naked, bare units or body only. These tools are supplied without a battery or charger and more often than not without any accessories. As a result they are significantly cheaper in price.
Most professional combi drills have a variable speed function and a variety of torque settings. Additionally there is often a choice between single, 2 or 3 speed gears; a low speed and higher torque setting is used for screw driving whilst a higher speed is used for drilling metal or wood for example.
