Moisture Resistant Plasterboard

Moisture resistant plasterboard is specifically designed to withstand moisture better than regular plasterboard. It is for use in areas of buildings which will experience high levels of humidity or moisture, usually the bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room. Using this type of plasterboard helps the walls remain in good condition for longer and helps them keep their structural integrity. It also helps prevent mould and mildew growth.

This type of plasterboard is manufactured in a similar way to regular plasterboard, but it does have some additional features. The facing of the board is treated to resist moisture absorption and additives and treatments are applied to the core material during manufacture.

As this plasterboard has additional features, it is usually more expensive than standard plasterboard.
