Cement Board

Cement board is a commonly used building material and is mainly used as a substrate for tile in bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens, and outdoor installations. Cement board is highly effective for this purpose as it is durable, moisture resistant and stable.

To manufacture cement board, portland cement, sand and reenforcing fibres are mixed into a slurry and then formed not sheets. These sheets are then thoroughly dried to form rigid panels.

Boards are installed by nailing or screwing the boards to studs or floor joists. Cement board is relatively heavy, always ensure it has enough support before it is installed.
