Drain Gullies

Drain gullies collect and redirect both rainwater and wastewater.  They usually consist of a shallow basin with a grate.  It allows water to enter, but usually traps debris.  The outlet pipe from the gully then flows into a sewer or another type of drainage system.  

Maintenance is required if gullies block.  The blockage can usually be cleared by removing debris from the grid or the bottom of the gully.
