Vapour Barriers
Vapour barriers are used to control moisture and prevent water vapour from penetrating a buildings structure. These barriers make a building more comfortable and improve energy efficiency. Reducing excessive moisture in buildings helps minimise issues like rot and mold.
Barriers are usually manufactured from polythene sheets, foil insulation or specially designed vapour barrier membranes. They are usually placed on the warm side of the insulation – the interior side of walls, roofs, and floors. Good ventilation is needed alongside a vapour barrier to provide a healthy environment. Barriers are essential in climates that have high rainfall, like the UK, where damp in buildings can be a serious problem.
Bradfords can deliver vapour barriers directly to your home or site for added convenience. They are also available to collect from our branch network throughout the south-west.
