Damp Proof Membranes
Damp proof membranes (DPMs) are used to prevent moisture and water from getting into a buildings structure. They prevent groundwater, water in the soil and rainwater from getting into the building. This helps maintain a dry environment within the building.
There are 2 main types of damp proof membranes. Sheet membranes are large flexible sheets or rolls of material that are laid over the building’s foundation or subfloor. Liquid membranes are applied directly onto the surface and are often used on floors, walls, and even flat roofs to provide a moisture barrier.
Following manufacturer’s installation instructions is critical to ensure the product works effectively. Extra care is required when sheets of material are joined together. Always follow health and safety instructions when installing.
Bradfords can deliver DPMs and other building materials directly to your home or building site quickly. This saves time collecting them and ensures they arrive in perfect condition, ready to install.
