Cavity Trays

Cavity trays prevent moisture penetration and moisture from entering the building through the cavity between the inner and outer walls.  Trays are usually used in areas where the building maybe vulnerable to water including around window and door openings, where wall thickness changes or walls meet roofs.  

Trays are usually made from plastic, lead, or stainless steel.  They often include weep holes at their lowest point to allow any water to drain out of the cavity.  Weep holes are usually positioned above lintels, windows sills, or any other potential points of water entry.
