Frame Ties

Frame ties are an essential construction component. They help prevent structural damage due to different movement between the timber frame and the masonry or brickwork. These ties ensure that the connection between the frame and masonry remains strong and maintains structural integrity. As well as this, they can also be used to maintain the insulation that is fitted to the cavity.

Correct installation of the ties is essential. They should be installed during the construction process, with one end fixed in the mortar joint between the bricks or blocks. The other end is securely fixed to the timber frame.
