Bricklaying Trowels

A bricklaying trowel is used for spreading, levelling and shaping concrete or mortar whilst laying bricks or blocks.  Trowels come in a large variety of shapes and sizes; each is designed for a specific bricklaying task. 

When choosing a trowel that you are going to be using for long periods of time, comfort is key.  Handles are usually made from wood, plastic, or rubber and some have grip for additional comfort.
  
Trowels come in several sizes, from 4 to 12 inches and the blades are usually manufactured from high carbon steel or stainless steel.  It is important to keep the blade clean and you should always clean before mortar dries on the blade.
