Bradfords Building Supplies (‘BBS’) has made a series of investments in its electronic purchase and payments systems aimed at supporting both customers and suppliers.
A new customer portal has been launched to provide account holders and frequent buyers with secure online access to their account information, orders, invoices, statements and other documents. This has already been available to some larger BBS customers, but will now be available to all purchasers wanting easy access to information 24-hours a day.
The customer portal can be found at www.bradfordstrade.co.uk
For BBS suppliers, a new system has been introduced to simplify and accelerate both purchases and payments. An electronic data interchange (‘EDI’) will better align back-office processes between BBS and those organisations providing goods and services. This will streamline invoice processing and reduce the risk of errors.
An initial number of BBS suppliers will start using the EDI system in December, and the updated process will be made available to all suppliers starting in January 2015.
The BBS sales teams have also been provided with new mobile technology aimed at better supporting clients and customers. Upgraded tablets and smartphones mean sales staff can more easily follow customer accounts via the ‘BisTrack’ system to ensure efficient placement of orders and delivery.
Bradfords Group Chief Executive Mark Eburne said: “The building supplies sector is increasingly reliant on new technology. Our customers and clients expect an increasingly fast and efficient service, so it is absolutely vital that Bradfords supports them by continuing to invest in new online processes. Our new portal means that customers will have round-the clock back-up, which will greatly enhance the customer experience.”
